# Lorediv — The Open Knowledge Tree

Build your public lore for the agentic era. Lorediv is a public index of
expertise: readable, structured, so agents can cite you. Let your fingerprint
claim your aim.

## 1. Scattered to connected expertise

Your valuable content is scattered across the web, different platforms,
different handles, with no clear structure. AI agents cannot identify your
expertise or cite you as a trusted voice.

```mermaid
graph LR
  subgraph scattered["Scattered"]
    X[X posts]
    GH[GitHub repos]
    SS[Substack essays]
    AR[arXiv papers]
    YT[YouTube talks]
    RD[Reddit threads]
  end
  scattered -->|"no shared identity"| agent1["Agent: cannot attribute"]
  subgraph connected["Connected"]
    L[One handle]
    T[One tree]
    R[Rank and divs]
  end
  connected -->|"one address, one record"| agent2["Agent: cites the right author"]
```

---

## 2. A lore built in public

Lore cannot be bought or self-declared. It grows by creating, and by
contributing to the community's trees. Expertise is not claimed: it gains
weight through community validation.

| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Create | You publish a topic or a branch |
| Connect | Your work links to other members who share the expertise |
| Validate | The community votes on relevance |
| Rank | Lore accrues and moves you up the index |

### Discover specialties

Become a recognised source in your areas of expertise and be positioned by
search agents as a go-to voice on the topics you know best.

### Get ahead of the trend

Trends rise faster every day. Place your research and vision where the field is
heading. Well-channeled disagreement produces evolution.

### Built to be assembled

Lorediv ranks each source by its author's lore. Every source arrives with the
track record and community validation behind it. If it is on top, the community
put it there.

---

## 3. Make your content position you

Lorediv makes your expertise findable: structured, public, connected to
keywords, and growing as context. It gives your work a permanent address, a
place in an open knowledge tree, and a clear signal for agents such as Grok,
Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini.

An example query and its ranking:

| # | Topic | Author | Lore | Tags |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Run local models on an M4 MacBook Pro | @priya_nair | GOAT 8.4 | /localai /mlx /quant |
| 2 | Quantized models, benchmarked on M4 and M5 | @wei_zhang | Wizard 6.1 | /quant /ollama /localai |
| 3 | Ollama vs LM Studio vs llama.cpp | @noor_ali | Geek 3.5 | /ollama /llamacpp /localai |
| 4 | A local coding assistant on M3 Ultra | @mei_lin | Wizard 6.3 | /mlx /devtools /code |

*Illustrative data.*

## 4. Be the source

Search agents do not browse. They pick sources, and they pick before they read.
Lorediv shows them who really knows a topic, so your expertise is what they
cite.

### Routing by lore

Lorediv classifies and weighs every author, then ranks and highlights the
strongest sources, so agents land on them first.

```mermaid
flowchart TD
  Q[Agent query] --> I[Index by tag and topic]
  I --> W[Weight by author lore]
  W --> V[Community validation]
  V --> R[Ranked sources]
  R --> C[Agent cites the top author]
```

### One address, three formats

HTML for users, Markdown and JSON for agents. No login wall, no scraping.

```mermaid
graph LR
  U["/topics/post/slug"] --> H[HTML for people]
  U --> M[".md for agents"]
  U --> J[".json for agents"]
```

### Knowledge grows, credit stays

Permanent URLs, clear authorship. Embed outside work, cite multiple authors,
and every branch links back to the original.

---

## 5. One tree, every format

Knowledge does not arrive finished. It emerges along the way. A question, a
claim, a proposal, a prediction: pick the shape that fits, and the tree takes
form.

### Layered context

Embed any source: an X thread, an arXiv paper, a GitHub repo, a Reddit post, a
Lorediv tree, or anything else. Branch from it, expand on what is missing, and
keep authorship intact.

```mermaid
graph TD
  T[Topic post] --> C1[Context: X thread]
  T --> C2[Context: arXiv paper]
  T --> C3[Context: GitHub repo]
  T --> B1[Branch: counter-argument]
  T --> B2[Branch: proposal]
  B1 --> B3[Branch: reply]
```

### Easy to take part

Step through the form, or paste the JSON template. Each topic type has its own
template.

| Topic type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Post | A statement or a piece of work |
| Ask | A question to the community |
| Proposal | A change to be decided |
| Poll | A choice among options |
| Prediction | A claim about the future |
| Context | A source that frames a topic |
| Argument | A structured map of claims |
| Graph | A flow of dependencies |

---

## 6. From readable, to answerable, to reachable

Humans keep talking to humans in every phase. What changes is how agents meet
the tree, and how they meet you.

```mermaid
flowchart LR
  P1["Phase 1 — Findable<br/>Agents read the public tree<br/>with no session. Rank and divs<br/>sit in front of the body."]
  P2["Phase 2 — Queryable<br/>REST and MCP on the same tree.<br/>Agents answer from the index<br/>and cite without scraping."]
  P3["Phase 3 — Reachable<br/>An agent leaves a question<br/>for you, only where you accept them.<br/>Your answer grows on the tree."]
  P1 --> P2 --> P3
```

## 7. Frequently asked questions

### Public index

Lorediv is a public index of expertise: readable, structured data, so agents can
position you. It organizes collective expertise as an open knowledge tree for the
agentic era.

### Lore

Lore is earned recognition. It comes from the community's valuation of published
work, and it cannot be self-signed, bought, or manufactured. It lives on the
profile as the signature an agent reads first.

- [Search agents](https://docs.lorediv.com/rank#search-agents)

### Ranks

Tiers are Newbie, Geek, Wizard, and GOAT. The public form is a tier plus a score,
like Wizard 6.1, from community valuation.

- [Ranks and voting](https://docs.lorediv.com/lorediv/lorediv_wiki#6-model-ranks--voting-system)

### Divs

Divs are the specialization fields a profile compiles, under one public rank.
They are useful for agents to go straight to the point.

- [Community](https://app.lorediv.com/community)

### Voting power

An energy system. People who receive more votes earn more power, and spend that
energy on the work they judge worth it.

- [Ranks and voting](https://docs.lorediv.com/lorediv/lorediv_wiki#6-model-ranks--voting-system)

### Identifiers

Every part of the tree is locatable by its id, slug, or canonical URL.

- [Document twins](https://docs.lorediv.com/agents/document-twins)
- [Shared fields](https://docs.lorediv.com/shared/fields)
- [Feed addresses](https://app.lorediv.com/feed#public-files)
- [Wiki](https://docs.lorediv.com/lorediv/lorediv_wiki)

### Three phases

Phase 1 makes the tree readable. Phase 2 connects agents through REST and MCP.
Phase 3 puts experts in reach, so an agent can ask them on their profile.

### High signal

Structured, verifiable work that an agent can read, cite, and trust. Trending and
the tag map show what the community is backing. If a topic is in the top, the
community put it there.

### Topic formats

Posts, asks, proposals, polls, predictions, contexts, argument maps, and flow
graphs. Outside work can be embedded for context without claiming credit, while
still respecting its authorship.

### Community

### User profile

The profile at `/u/{handle}` is your public record on the tree: lore rank, divs,
activity, and every topic and branch you published. An agent reads that same
fingerprint from the public files.
